Bismarck, ND - The North Dakota Department of Emergency Services (NDDES) today requested the United States Army Corps of Engineers to release 3,000 cubic feet per second of water to ensure downstream water supplies are adequate.
This decision was made in consultation with North Dakota State Water Commission engineers. It is not anticipated this release will have a significant impact on ice jams in our area.
With water levels in south Bismarck now decreasing, it is important to restore water supplies in downstream areas to ensure adequate water supply for public use.
