If your business has been directly or indirectly impacted by North Dakota flooding in 2011, you may be eligible for a variety of assistance programs. What follows is a list of programs and services for you to review and consider.

Agricultural/Animal - Disaster Assistance
The Agricultural Mediation Service can provide mediation and counseling services, to farmers and ranchers who may be experiencing financial or other difficulties as a result of flooding. The
Animal Health Division is able to provide technical assistance regarding animal disease and health information. Information and technical assistance is also available for bio-security measures to prevent the spread of animal diseases during a flood.

Business Disaster Relief Loans
The Bank of North Dakota offers North Dakota businesses a disaster relief loan program to provide financing to replace or repair equipment and real estate, and to replenish working capital. The program will also provide relief to the borrower by lowering their interest rate and providing options for reamortization of the loan term.

Business Disaster Relief Loans - Primary Sector Business
The North Dakota Development Fund offers up to $150,000 for primary sector businesses that has experienced a physical loss of property or had experienced economic injury - loss of revenues, increased operation expenses, etc. Funds can be used for working capital, building renovation and equipment purchases.

Business Economic Injury Disaster Loans
The Small Business Administration provides loans to small business or private, nonprofit organizations that have suffered economic injury, regardless of physical damages, and is located in a declared disaster area. SBA can provide up to $2 million in disaster assistance; this includes both economic injury and physical damage assistance.

Business Physical Disaster Loans
The Small Business Administration offers loans to businesses or private, nonprofit organizations located in a declared disaster area. The loan is designed to help replace damaged property or restore it to the condition it was in before the disaster. SBA makes physical disaster loans of up to $2 million to qualified businesses or private nonprofit organizations.

Farm Disaster Relief Loans
The Bank of North Dakota offers North Dakota farmers and ranchers a disaster relief loan program to replace or repair equipment and real estate, and to replenish working capital. Tax Payment Information
Taxpayers affected by North Dakota flooding and who are having difficulty meeting the tax filing deadlines should contact the North Dakota Tax Department.

Utility Rebates
The North Dakota Department of Commerce partners with utilities, cooperatives and propane gas providers across the state to make rebates for commercial customers available. If your business needs to replace items such as air conditioners, furnaces, water heaters and related items, you may be eligible for up to $15,000 based on the size and energy efficiency of the unit.
