Search and Rescue

Search and rescue events may result from a variety of activities such as hunting, fishing, climbing, hiking and boating. Elderly individuals who suffer from confusion, dementia or Alzheimer’s disease as well as young children are often subjects of search and rescue due a propensity to leave a known location or fall victim to a crime. First responders planning search and rescue missions often request the aide of the Civil Air Patrol and other state assets to assist in location efforts. Local law enforcement is the first contact when a person is missing.
