Multi-Hazard Emergency Planning for Schools (FEMA L0364)

FEMA Emergency Management Institute staff will travel to Bismarck to present this course that provides schools with the knowledge, skills, and tools needed to refine or develop an all-hazards school Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) and how to train and exercise the school EOP. The course follows guidance set forth in the FEMA Comprehensive Preparedness Guide (CPG 101) for developing an EOP and explains how to utilize the National Incident Management System as the foundation for planning and building partnerships with outside agencies such as Law Enforcement, Fire, and Emergency Management.

A table top exercise involving an active assailant in a school will conclude the training.

We are seeking groups of planners from a community (school officials and first responders) as well as individuals with planning or response roles to school emergencies.

Participants must complete the course pre-requisites, IS 100 SCa, Introduction to Incident Command System for Schools OR IS 100.b, Introduction to Incident Command System AND IS 700.a, National Incident Management System, An Introduction.
Please bring a copy of the certificates to class.

The class will be held at the Comfort Inn, 1030 E Interstate Ave, Bismarck, ND. Registration will begin at 8:00 a.m. and instruction will be from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day. Participants should bring a copy of the school plans or policies related to emergency response.

A block of rooms will be held for class attendees at the Comfort Inn until February 23, 2014.

Class size is limited.
