Business Continuity of Operations Planning
North Dakota state agencies maintain continuity of operations plan. However, in the event of an nt, emergency, disaster or catastrophe, what will private businesses do?
Business continuity planning is the process in which businesses ensure maintenance or recovery of operations, including services to customers, when confronted with adverse events such as natural disasters, technological failures, human error or terrorism. The objectives of a business continuity plan are to minimize financial loss to the business, continue to serve customers and stakeholders and mitigate negative effects disruptions can have on a business’s strategic plans, reputation, operations, liquidity, credit quality, market position and ability to remain compliant with applicable laws and regulations. Changing business processes (internally and externally) and new threat scenarios provide a catalyst for businesses large and small to maintain and updated viable business continuity plans.
