Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Programs
The energy efficiency and renewable energy activities within DCS
encompass the federally funded State Energy Program (SEP), The Weatherization
Assistance Program for low income persons, the State Building Conservation
program, and other energy efficiency and renewable energy initiatives.
The focus of these programs is to promote energy efficiency in both the public and private sectors and to facilitate the development and use of renewable energy sources within the state. Some examples include: wind power development; the use geothermal energy; the promotion of alternative fueled vehicles; and adoption of solar energy applications to name a few.
