The Secondary Electronics Technology curriculum is a comprehensive 710-hour program that is taught two periods per day for two years. Students in the first year of the course acquire a working knowledge of Direct Current (DC) and Alternating Current (AC) theory and application. This knowledge is gained through the use of integrated mathematics and physics concepts.
The second year emphasizes solid-state technology, with the primary objective to obtain a solid, basic understanding of semiconductor devices including diodes, transistors, integrated circuits, optoelectronic devices, digital electronics, power supplies, and amplifiers. Additional time allows for localization in other areas of electronics, which may include communications concepts, instruction, laser, etc.
