2006 Program Excellence in Technology Education
Simle Middle School, Bismarck
Simle Middle School was named the Outstanding Technology Education Program in North Dakota by the International Technology Education Association. The award was presented at the ITEA Annual Conference held March 23-25, 2006, in Baltimore, Maryland. On hand to accept the award were the quality instructors in the program, Dan Houston and Jeff Schumacher.
Dan and Jeff are outstanding instructors and their program is very deserving of this reconition. Congratulations!
2006 Teacher Excellence Award
Brian Vance - Ellendale Public School
Brian Vance, Technology Education teacher at Ellendale Public School, was named the 2006 Outstanding Technology Education Teacher in North Dakota. The award was presented to Brian at the ITEA Annual Conference held March 23-25, 2006, in Baltimore, Maryland.

2006 Young Educator of the Year in Technology Education
Justin Foss - Hatton and Northwood Public Schools
Justin Foss was named the Young Educator of the Year in Technology Education by the NDACTE during the 2006 Professional Development Conference in Bismarck, August 7-9, 2006.

2006 Director's Award for Excellence in Technology Education
Lisbon Public School
Lisbon Public School was awarded the Director's Award for Excellence in Technology Education in North Dakota. The award was presented at the 2006 Professional Development Conference held August 7-9, 2006, in Bismarck. On hand to accept the award was Greg Heitkamp, Technology Education instructor, and Philip Martin, Secondary Principal from Lisbon.
Greg is an outstanding instructor and his program is deserving of this recognition. Congratulations to Greg, Philip, and Lisbon Public School!
2006 NDACTE Teacher of the Year
Erwin Van Veldhuizen - A.L. Hagen Junior High School, Dickinson
Erwin Van Veldhuizen has been recognized by students, peers, business leaders and the community of Dickinson for having an outstanding Technology Education program. The NDACTE Teacher of the Year award was announced at the CTE Professional Development Conference and was presented at a teacher in-service day at A.L. Hagen Junior High School on August 22, 2006.
Mr. Van started the program in 1992 and keeps the program and his students on the cutting edge of technology. He has been teaching for over 30 years and has served as the Technology Education representative on the NDACTE Executive Board for over 15 years.
Congratulations, Erv, on an award that is very well deserved!
