ND Career Resource Coordinator Program
Mission and Priorities
The mission of the North Dakota Career Resource Coordinator program is to provide labormarket and career exploration information for ND students, parents, teachers, administrators, and counselors.
Priorities for this program will include the following:
- Provide direct services to schools including professional development opportunities for professionals and information on career clusters, career pathways, and plans of study; services may include:
- Provide career/occupation planning information and materials for teachers and counselors
- Presentations for school personnel and/or parents on labor market trends, i.e. high skill, high wage, and high demand occupations
- Business and industry tours
- Externships for staff
- Provide career information, awareness and exploration opportunities for students, including:
- One day events such as career fairs, business tours, speakers in specific career clusters and/or pathways
- "Hands-on" or experiential occupational exploration opportunities for students (i.e. job shadows, internships, etc.)
- Academies and camps (events for interested students - perhaps regional or state-wide, need to resolve accessibility issue)
- Class presentations (re: labor market, career clusters and pathways, plans of study, brochures, etc.)
- Provide increased business and industry involvement and partnership opportunities.
- Develop and disseminate to schools resource banks of individuals and companies available to serve as speakers and/or provide locations for job shadow or internship experiences.
- Provide assistance to postsecondary and secondary institutions in the development of articulation/dual credit opportunities for students.
