Descrption

This course is designed for educators who wish to teach "IT Essentials: PC Hardware and Software" to students. This course will cover all the lab activities associated with the Cisco Academy curriculum. Participants will discuss best practices, setting up the class, and practice with the available tools and equipment associated with the class. Participants will gain a teaching knowledge of all the major concepts covered in the course.
The course covers the fundamentals of computer hardware and software as well as advanced concepts. Participants who complete this course will be able to describe the internal components of a computer, assemble a computer system, install an operating system, and troubleshoot using system tools and diagnostic software. Participants will also be able to connect to the Internet and share resources in a network environment. Additional topics include: laptops, portable devices, wireless connectivity, security, safety and environmental issues, and communication skills.
Successful completion of the training will provide the following:
- Free access to Cisco's on-line curriculum and resources needed to teach the course
- 4 semester hours of graduate credit will be available
- Meets the training requirements to add MIS03 course code 27219 as an endorsement to the participant's ND teaching license
