Description

This course is designed for educators who wish to teach "Working at a Small-to-Medium Business or ISP" to students. Prerequisite is a teacher who has taught Cisco Semester 1 or who has completed the training "Networking for Home and Small Business" (Cisco Discovery 1). Participants will discuss best practices for teaching the curriculum and for using the available resources and equipment associated with the class. The lab activities incorporated in the curriculum will be covered in this course. Participants will gain a teaching knowledge of all the major concepts covered in the course which include: Creating Help Desk Documentation; Installing a Cisco ISR Device; Use of the SDM Router and Security Configuration; Planning for Networking Upgrades; Configuration of NAT/PAT; Configuration of DHCP; Configuration of SSH; Configuration of EIGRP and BGP; Understand AAA Security; Switch Configuration; Contrast IDS and IPS Systems; and Disaster Recovery Planning Including Running Backups.
Successful completion of this course will provide the following:
- Free access to Cisco's on-line curriculum and resources needed to teach the course
- 3 semester hours of graduate credit will be available
- Meets the training requirements to add MIS03 course code 27267 as an endorsement to the participant's ND teaching license
