Trade and Industry, Technical and Health Education (T & I) provides leadership, technical assistance, and education through occupational programs. T & I strives to raise the standard of excellence in secondary, postsecondary, and Continued Education to meet current industry work force standards.

Aeronautics and Aviation Technology

Careers in Aerospace Sciences are varied and are categorized into Aviation Sciences, Atmospheric Sciences and Space Sciences. Aviation Sciences is part of the aerospace specialty that includes preparation in flight related careers such as aviation, aviation management, airport management commercial aviation, flight education, air traffic control and aviation systems management. The Atmospheric Sciences include preparation for occupations in operational weather analysis, forecasting and broadcasting activities, cloud physics, air chemistry and radar meteorology. Technology used will include the Doppler weather radar, research aircraft and computer technologies. Space Sciences include preparation in occupations for positions in commercial and governmental sectors of the rapidly growing field of space exploration and development. Students gain useful knowledge regarding the development, management, and operation of space systems that can help them enter a career in space. Commercial Art

Commercial and graphic artists use a variety of print, electronic, and film media to create designs that meet clients' commercial needs. Using computer software, they develop the overall layout and design of magazines, newspapers, journals, corporate reports, and other publications. They may also produce promotional displays and marketing brochures for products and services, design distinctive company logos for products and businesses, and develop signs and signage. Construction

The construction industry is a diverse industry reflecting many trades as they relate to constructing structures or building highways. Builders are using specialty trade contractors who hire carpenters who specialize in one or two activities. Some of the activities are setting forms for concrete construction, doing finishing work or erecting scaffolding. General building contractors often hire carpenters that are able to perform tasks associated with new construction. Construction ranges from heavy highway, to commercial construction, to industrial construction to residential construction. The construction occupations include carpentry, boilermakers, electricians, heating and cooling technicians, concrete installers, carpet, floor and tile installers, heavy equipment operators, construction managers, estimators, and many more. Culinary Arts

A reputation for serving food is essential to the success of any restaurant or hotel, whether it offers exotic cuisine or hamburgers. Chefs, cooks, and food preparation workers are largely responsible for establishing and maintaining this reputation. Chefs and cooks do this by preparing meals, while other food preparation workers assist them. Food and beverage servers aim to help customers have a positive dining experience in their establishments. These workers greet customers, take food and drink orders, serve food, clean up after patrons, and prepare tables and dining areas. The job outlook remains strong. Energy Technology

Energy Technology represents diverse industries relating to the production, transmission, and maintenance of energy resources. Occupations can include engineering, chemical, environmental, electrical/electronic, mining and geological engineers; technicians such as electronic technicians, machinists, diesel technicians or line workers; oil exploration can include riggers, truck operators, oil lease managers; construction craft specialists such as boilermakers, electricians, programmable logic controllers, heavy equipment operators, power plant technicians, power process technicians, heating, ventilating and air conditioning.
