Minimum Qualifications:
The position requires a Bachelor's Degree; however, a Master's Degree is preferred, in an appropriate area of education or administration, and five years of experience in administration, program development, or teaching using state-of-the-art instructional technologies. Preference will be given to candidates who have a Major in Technology Education and a demonstrated ability to plan and to work with others.
Applicants must possess or be eligible for and obtain a Technology Education Teaching License.
A valid driver's license is required with the ability to travel from one location to another both within and outside the state on their own. Must have the ability to operate a computer using Microsoft Office. Ability to lift and carry 40 pounds is also required.
If no qualified applicants are found, the agency may consider underfilling the position with applicants who must meet the minimum qualification requirements within two years of employment.

Summary of Work:
The Department of Career and Technical Education is seeking a positive, enthusiastic individual to serve as the program supervisor for technology education. Major responsibility is to provide leadership and technical assistance to the technology education program instructors in secondary and postsecondary schools throughout the state. Promote technology education programs to school administrators. Approve and evaluate technology education programs. Coordinate and assist in the development of curriculum with secondary and postsecondary schools. Coordinate professional development for teachers and administrators. Conduct site visits at schools, new teacher visits and new program visits. Work with the technical education teacher education institutions to promote and enhance their programs. The individual will be the state advisor for the career and technical student organization Technology Student Association. Plan and conduct an annual TSA conference. Work with the emerging technology consortiums in planning, development and administer the state funding for the program. Assist in administering federal and state funding for Technical Education programs and Perkins consortiums.
