- Call for Ornaments for the ND State Christmas Tree. NDCA invites artists and craftspeople to provide handmade ornaments for the ND State Christmas Tree. The tree will be on display in the Memorial Hall of the State Capitol building in Bismarck and will be lit during a public ceremony conducted by the Governor and Mrs. Hoeven on Thursday, December 3, 2009. - Upcoming Training Opportunities: "Impact Institute Nonprofit Training and Resources" a leadership initiative for North Dakota Nonprofits. The Impact Foundation announced a statewide capacity-building initiative that will benefit nonprofit organizations across North Dakota. Assisted by a $2 million grant from the St. Paul, MN-based Bush Foundation, the Impact Leadership Institute will provide training, education and resources to increase nonprofit efficiency, reenergize nonprofit boards, improve communication strategies, increase revenues and diversify nonprofit funding streams. Impact estimates about 800 nonprofit executives, board members and staff will be trained through this initiative. Training sessions will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and the cost is $25.00 per person. A lists of training sessions is available via this link. - NDCA is offering a new grant program in fiscal year 2010 to assist organizations in updating and creating technological improvements. Guidelines are now available via this link. Grants of up to $600 may be requested for web development, equipment purchase, and new software. You must be a current non-profit arts organization registered with the ND Secretary of State in order to qualify for funding. The grant application is available via this link.
