As a Licensed Addiction Counselor with the ND Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, you will work with a multi-disciplinary team to conduct assessments and referrals, facilitate evidence-based programming and individual counseling, provide case management, crisis intervention, and group therapeutic counseling services to individuals, families, and clients at our correctional facilities. Starting Salary: $6,067 Addiction Counselor II - Requires a bachelor's degree in Addiction Counseling, Addiction Studies, Social Work, Counseling or Psychology, Licensure as an Addiction Counselor (LAC) by the ND Board of Addition Counseling Examiners, and Two years of experience as a Licensed Addiction Counselor. A Master's Degree in one of the majors listed above will substitute for one year of experience. As a Parole and Probation Officer, you will provide direct supervision to individuals placed on parole or probation. You will complete intakes on clients, develop case plans, and provide overall management of the client's case. In this position, you may assist in parole investigations for the Parole Board, and other miscellaneous investigations as needed. Work includes exposure to hazardous conditions potentially resulting in a serious physical injury requiring medical attention, and some lost time from work. Exposure occurs on a periodic or intermittent basis. You will work closely with the courts, law enforcement agencies, Parole Board, Pardon Advisory Board, human service centers, Transitional Planning Services and social services agencies. Minimum Qualifications

Minimum qualifications for a Parole and Probation Officer II require a bachelor's degree with preference given with a degree in a behavioral science, education, business or closely related field and eligibility to be licensed as a peace officer in North Dakota, and three years of work experience directly interacting with individuals in a correctional, law enforcement, social work, business, education or behavioral setting. Incumbent must be licensable as a ND Peace Officer under North Dakota Century Code Chapter 12-63, which includes passing the critical task assessment. Incumbent shall attend the first available basic peace officer training recognized by the ND Peace Officers and Training Board (POST Board) ensuring authorization to perform the peace officer duties of a Parole and Probation Officer in accordance with North Dakota Century Code Section 12-59-20. Must have a valid class D driver's license. Must pass a thorough background investigation and criminal record check. Minimum qualifications for the Parole and Probation Officer I require a bachelor's degree, with preference given to degrees in behavioral science, business, education or closely related field. Must be eligible to be licensed as a peace officer in North Dakota. The individual will work as a team member in an infirmary/clinic setting and within the Medical and Psychiatric Service Program. The position requires a holistic approach to health care service with emphasis on health maintenance through patient education and positive self-initiative. Requires interpersonal skills and communication skills necessary to perform job duties and must have ability to work with an inmate population on a daily basis. Strong clinical skills required. Psychiatric, medical surgical, and critical care background preferred, but not necessary. Individual must be flexible and innovative in carrying out assigned responsibilities. Must successfully complete standard background and criminal record check and drug screening.LPN requires current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse by the North Dakota Board of Nursing or licensure in another state and meet the eligibility requirements for licensure in North Dakota. North Dakota licensure is a condition of employment, and the employing agency will verify and document licensure upon appointment.
