Limited tickets are now available for Dakota Prairie Regional Center for the Arts’ (DPRCA’s) short run production of Murder is in the Air, a comedy-mystery-whodunit dinner theatre experience, opening February 5th at the Old Church Theatre in New Rockford.
The show is set on New Year’s Eve 1928 at an elegant dinner party aboard the zeppelin “Colossus” as it floats towards New York City. The theatre’s guests are part of the production – as passengers aboard the airship – while cast members perform their roles all around them. As the mystery progresses, every zany character appears more guilty than the last – can you spot the murderer before the detective?
As part of the production, guests will receive a full dinner including hors d’oeuvres, a salad, a beef or chicken entrée, and dessert. The theatre’s own Jack’s Tavern bar will be open during the show, offering a range of wine, beer, and spirits.
Staged by DPRCA’s Artistic Director, Elliott Schwab, the show features the all-veteran cast of Schwab, Jared Kolles, Erin Greiner, Jessica Dillon, Natasha Woitzel-Kolles, Josh Starke, Jon Johnson, and Kerstin Allmaras. Schwab says of this year’s performance, “It’s the same crazy cast of characters as last year BUT with a whole new ending! So if you think you’ve seen the show, you’re “dead” wrong! (cue ominous organ music!).”
Murder is in the Air will run at the Old Church Theatre - 529 Central Ave in New Rockford - at 6:30 p.m. for four nights only: February 5th, 6th, 12th, and 13th. Tickets are on sale now at the box office at (701) 947-2174; please have entrée selections ready when making reservations. All dinner theatre tickets are $45. Guests are invited, but not required, to dress appropriately for the fancy dinner party theme of the show.
Volunteers and ushers for shows are always needed and welcome. To connect with DPRCA, visit our website or find us on Facebook at “Dakota Prairie Regional Center for the Arts” for the most up-to-date photos, video clips, and updates.
