"Gazal se Bhajan Tak" - an informal Indian music program by Sounak Chattopadhyay
Sounak Chattopadhyay (www.sounak.com) is an accomplished Indian classical musician from Kolkata, India. He has been trained in Indian classical music for more than 20 years. He has widely performed in all major cities in India, including New Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, and Kolkata (Calcutta).
Sounak is coming to perform at the North American Bengali Conference in Houston during July 11 - 13, 2015. He got the US Visa last Friday (the whole US visa system was down for more than 2 weeks due to a computer hardware problem!). He confirmed that he will be coming to Fargo on July 18. We are planning to have an informal music performance at our house. Here are the details.
Date: Sunday, July 19, 3 - 5 pm.
Venue: 655, 20 1/2 Avenue E, West Fargo.
Program: Semi-classical songs, Tagore songs, Gazals, Bhajans, Old-classic Bollywood songs.
The event is free, but we are requesting voluntary contributions (any amount) to defray his travel expenses from Houston to Fargo.
We strengthen the creative capacity of North Dakota for all who live or visit here: honoring our cultural traditions, empowering excellence and innovation, inspiring arts and culture opportunities for all.
