The Taube Museum of Art’s Main Gallery will feature Escape, a series of pen and ink drawings created while the artist was in prison. Due to limited resources, Norton worked primarily with pencil and pen while incarcerated. With these tools he began creating detailed black and white line drawings that evolved into his current art style.
The Taube Museum of Art’s Lower Gallery will feature photography by Marshall Hill. Birds of the Northern Prairie is a selection of brightly colored bird and nature photography. Hill has honed his photography skills through trial and error, determining that “beauty is not only in the eye of the photographer, but also in the eye of the beholder. Some positive and some negative.” He strives “to show the beauty that can only be interpreted as positive beauty by trying to get birds in flight, or in ways that the beauty of their feathers is evident. It is the small details in a subject that make it beautiful, and I hope to convey that beauty.”
