The James Memorial Art Center is proud to present “Canvasing the Bakken Oil Fields: Oil on Oil” by Minneapolis artist Joe Burns. The first painter to document the historical transformation of the once-quiet landscape of the Bakken oil fields in and around Williston, North Dakota, Burns will debut his latest work during the world premier of his new exhibit at the James Memorial Art Center. An opening reception with Burns will take place at the Center June 4th from 6-8 p.m. The exhibition will travel next to Minnesota this summer in July at Capella Towers in downtown Minneapolis, then back to North Dakota later this fall and into 2016.The reception is free and open to the public. The James Memorial Art Center is located at 621 First Avenue Westin Williston. Gallery hours are Monday-Thursday 9am-2pm and Friday 1:00pm-5:00pm, and 1:00–5:00 pm on Sunday.
