Residency Title: Principles of the Mondrian Art Movement in the 20th Century
Grade Level: Grade 4-6
Number of Sessions: 4 - 45 Minute Sessions
Dutch artist, Piet Mondrian’s contribution to modern art of the 20th century has made an integral impact on how we see the world today. In this residency, students will complete a 12”x 12” mixed media painting which demonstrates basic Mondrian design principles. David Paukert, artist and educator will engage students in the exploration and study of significant artists who changed our world through their art.
In remembrance of January's bus and train accident outside of Larimore that took two lives and left a dozen injured, the Larimore School District dedicated the "Caring Hearts Wall" at Larimore High School on May 20, 2015. David Paukert, a visiting North Dakota Council on the Arts artist-in-residence, led the all-school program to explore how art could be used as a healing tool for the community and school of Larimore.
