The
North Dakota quarter depicts a pair of grazing American bison in the
foreground, with a sunset view of the rugged buttes and canyons that
help define North Dakota’s Badlands region in the background. The
quarter was released at a special launch ceremony
on August 30, 2006.
The
Commemorative Quarter Set is available at NDCA's office, and
online - offering an opportunity to purchase
never-circulated, North Dakota quarters in a collectible
case for $5.00. Each set will include one quarter from the United
States Mint at Denver, and one quarter from the United States Mint
at Philadelphia. The size of the North Dakota Commemorative State
Quarter set is approximately 3 1/2" x 2 1/2" and includes a plastic
display case. Very limited quantities of the Commemorative Quarter Sets
were available in one-of-a-kind, hand-decorated parfleche and beaded
pouches by Native American artist Marvin Bald Eagle Youngman for
$105.70, unfortunately we have sold out of the pouches at this time. Proceeds from the sale of the Commemorative Quarter Sets will benefit the
North Dakota
Cultural Endowment Fund.
