Swift, Margaret
Discipline: Painting

A self-taught artist who was first encouraged by her young daughter’s private art instructor, Margaret Swift has been an artist and art teacher for more than 30 years.

As an artist, she primarily paints landscapes, snow scenes, animals, florals, portraits, and birds. She exhibits in local and regional shows including the Rough Rider show in Williston and the Conklin Art Show in Great Falls, Montana. Her work is on display at the Dakota Artists Art and Craft Gallery in Mandan and at D.C. Arts Unlimited, Inc. in Glendive, Montana. She has studied under several noted area artists including Rosemary Landsberger and Vern Skaug, among others.

As an art teacher, she instructs art in local schools and in her Glen Ullin home studio, The Art Shack. She teaches many artistic mediums including acrylics, watercolors, oils, pastels, and scratchboard.
