So I've applied. What happens now?

Applications to the Artist-in-Residence, Arts-in-Curriculum, Community Arts Access, Individual Artist Fellowship, Institutional Support, Lewis and Clark Community, Presenter Support, Teacher Incentive, and Traditional Arts Apprenticeship grant programs are:

  1. reviewed by NDCA staff in accordance with a particular grant program’s guidelines. If necessary, applicants may be contacted for additional information.
  2. evaluated by an independent review panel, who makes funding recommendations to the NDCA’s board.
  3. reviewed and approved by the NDCA’s board.
  4. If an application is approved, the applicant will receive an award letter, a contract, a "Final Report" form, and a "Request for Funds" form - usually within 45 days after the postmark deadline. If the application is rejected, the applicant will receive a letter explaining the reason for rejection.

Applications to the Professional Development and Special Projects grant programs are:

  1. reviewed by the NDCA staff member who manages the program. If necessary, applicants may be contacted for additional information.
  2. evaluated by individual NDCA staff members, who each make a funding recommendation.
  3. Funding recommendations are averaged to produce the final award.
  4. If an application is approved, the applicant will receive an award letter, a contract, a "Final Report" form, and a "Request for Funds" form - usually within 2-3 weeks after the postmark deadline. If the application is rejected, the applicant will receive a letter explaining the reason for rejection.
