The annual Minot State University Juried Student Art Show will open April 7 at the Hartnett Hall Gallery with a reception from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Justin Sorensen, Williston, ND, is juror for the show and will select artwork for the exhibit from entries submitted by MSU students. Admission to the gallery and reception is free, and parking in campus lots is unrestricted after 4:30 p.m. This project is supported in part by a grant from the North Dakota Council on the Arts, which receives funding from the state legislature and the National Endowment for the Arts.
Jonah Wirginis, Minot State University junior music major from Saxonburg, PA, will present a solo percussion recital Tuesday, April 5, at 7:30 p.m. in Ann Nicole Nelson Hall. He will play works by J.S. Bach, Charles Wilcoxon, Frederic Macarez and John Pratt, performing on marimba, timpani, snare drum and pandeiro. Wirginis studies with MSU Percussion Instructor Avis Veikley. The recital is free and open to the public. Parking in MSU lots is unrestricted after 5 p.m.
Dutch violinist Tim Kliphuis and Minnesota guitarist Sam Miltich team up for a national tour introducing their new "Duets" album at the 9th Annual Integrity Jazz Festival, April 15th 2016, 7 PM at Ann Nicole Nelson Hall.
Get your tickets now for the Lake Region Heritage Center's 3rd Annual Heritage Gala on Friday, April 22nd. This year's theme is "STARS & STRIPES." Social hour begins at 6:30pm and dinner will be served at 7:30. Participate in the wine pull and the live and silent auctions. There will also be entertainment. The Minot State University Art Faculty Biennial Art Exhibit opens this evening, February 29, with a reception from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Hartnett Hall Gallery (second floor). Artists exhibiting are: Susana Amundarain, Micah Bloom, Andrea Donovan, Bill Harbort, Wendy Kimble, Linda Olson, Doug Pfliger, Walter Piehl, Ryan Stander, and Avis Veikley.
The exhibit is free and open to the public. It will be on view through March 31. Parking in MSU lots is unrestricted after 4:30 p.m.
