Minot State University's Northwest Arts Center presents ‘Escape,’ an exhibition of pen and ink drawings by Bismarck artist Matthew Norton, on display July 1 through 31.
The Walter Piehl Gallery is located in the Northwest Arts Center on the lower level of the Gordon B. Olson Library, with its own entrance on the south side of the library. It is open MTWF, 10 am to 5 pm, Thursday 10 am to 8 pm, Saturday 1 to 5 pm and by special arrangement. It is closed holidays.
The Taube Museum of Art’s Main Gallery features Arcane
a series expressionistic mixed-media paintings by artist Chase Lock
Lock is originally a North Dakota native, but now working in Los Angeles, CA. His body of work is inspired by the textural value found in graffiti. He creates large scale paintings primarily in oil, bringing graffiti into the fine art realm balancing the sometimes chaotic nature of graffiti with the finesse of the fine art world.

The Taube Museum of Art’s Main Gallery will feature Escape, a series of pen and ink drawings created while the artist was in prison. Due to limited resources, Norton worked primarily with pencil and pen while incarcerated.
