Caravanserai: American Voices performance

The North Dakota Museum of Art is one of three organizations in the country selected to host this year's Caravanserai, a tour of global music featuring contemporary Muslim-American musicians from across the U.S. The upcoming tour of Caravanserai: American Voices will kick off in Grand Forks with husband/wife hip hop duo The Reminders, featuring DJ Man-o-Wax, and MaMa2. The musicians will perform a week of workshops in schools, community centers, and the University, followed by a public performance on April 9, 7 pm, at HB Sound and Light (101 N 8th St, Grand Forks).

On Sunday, February 28, 2 pm, the Museum is hosting Amit Peled as part of the Myra Presents: Sunday Concerts in the Galleries. Amit is an Israeli cellist, stands 6’ 5” tall, and is a former basketball player.

Spring Concert

Enjoy the sounds of double bass virtuoso Marcos Machado (Brazil/USA), who will perform Proto's celebrated fiery Carmen Fantasy as well as "Samsara" by French composer Jean-Pascal Beintus. The program is completed by three Central European masterpieces - Haydn's 104th, and last, symphony; Liszt's exalted symphonic poem "Les Preludes", and a true journey into the endless sound possibilities of the symphonic orchestra - Johannes Brahms' Variations on a theme by Haydn.  The event will take place March 5 - 6, 2016.

Ghosts – A Trilogy of Harvests Past

A large-scale temporary art installation called Ghosts will be installed on 42nd Street on Thursday, January 21,

and will be available for public viewing on Friday, January 22. The installation will be on view through March 31.

Ghosts can be seen along 42nd Street, immediately south of the 17th Avenue intersection. Madelyn Camrud and

Adam Kemp, lead artists, invite the public to view Ghosts at any time. However, the work, lit from below, may be

especially compelling when viewed at night on the snowy landscape.
