Kelly Thompson - New paintings. Ecce Gallery proudly presents the second solo exhibit by Grand Forks-based artist Kelly Thompson. The artist's newest series of 50 acrylic paintings, all sized at 16 x 16 inches, depict the geometry and the precious dirt of the Red River Valley.

March 31 – April 1, 2016 Walter Hood, artist, and American landscape designer nonpareil, will give a public lecture in the Museum and meet with community stakeholders for lunch the following day. Having been raised in black North Carolina community, Hood states that public space should be multitasking, respectful of the land, rooted in – and watered by- the community. Think about the history of civilization.
Continuing through March 4 in the Museum galleries – Songs for Spirit Lake: Part II with new commissioned work by Bill Harbort, Terry Jelsing, and Tim Schouten. Kim Fink: Chaninging Nature, a retrospective graces the west gallery. The show marks Fink’s last semester in his two-decade stint teaching in the University of North Dakota’s Department of Art and Design where he headed up the Printmaking Department and established Sundog Multiples.
Join us for Family Day: April 2, 2016 and April 30, 2016 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Family Day is a day where children of all ages and adults come together to work on projects that help us understand current exhibitions while learning about techniques and materials.
The UND Art Collections Gallery at the Empire Arts Center new exhibition, UND in Grand Forks: Emergence of An Artful Relationship, will run from February 23 to March 31, 2016. Exhibit hours are Monday & Wednesday noon-5 p.m.; Tuesday & Thursday 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Empire Arts Center in downtown Grand Forks. The UND Art Collections Gallery is free and open to the public.
