The University of Mary Vocal Arts Ensemble, under the direction of Katherine Henjum, will present “Sunday Afternoon at the Opera,”. As part of the State Historical Society’s Sensational Sundays series, the opera program will feature scenes from Hansel and Gretel, La Serva Padrona, Eugene Onegin, and the beloved La Bohème.
Location: North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum
This free event, featuring a statewide media panel and a talk by humanities scholar and historical interpreter Clay Jenkinson in character as Thomas Jefferson, will spark a timely discussion about government ethics and address how North Dakota rates in the eyes of its citizens. Coffee and refreshments will be provided.
Supporting Shade Tree Players! The Mayor's Ball was created to recognize, support and promote the organizations that contribute to the culture of our community. Every year, two non-profits are chosen to receive the funds raised, and this year Suzuki School of Music and Dakota Stage/Shade Tree Players will be the recipients. There will be a cash bar, hors-d'oeuvres, music and yes, a little bit of fundraising. We have great auction items! Come socialize, maybe dance a little, and go home with some great art!
