Earth, Water, Fire, Air: Clay Bodies

All of the elements are involved in the process of creating with clay. Hanging and pedestal pieces are acceptable as are mixed media pieces using clay. This exhibition is open to the public. Entry fee: $5 for one or $8 for two. No Entry fee for Full and Supporting Members.

Missouri Valley Chamber Orchestra

The Missouri Valley Chamber Orchestra presents two chamber works by Franz Schubert Sunday, Nov. 8, in St. George’s Episcopal Church. The afternoon concert begins at 3 p.m. at 601 N. Fourth St. in Bismarck. Eight musicians will perform Schubert’s Octet in F, a six-movement piece considered his largest-scale chamber work. The second selection is “Quartettsatz” String Quartet No. 12 in c minor. Tickets at the door are $18 for adults, $15 for seniors, $10 for students, and $5 for children 15 and under (one child admitted free with paying adult).

Jackie McElroy Exhibit

Screen prints by Jackie McElroy are on display in the new Gannon Gallery space at the Bismarck State College Communications and Creative Arts Center through Nov. 28. A public reception is planned for Thursday, Nov. 12, from 4 to 6 p.m. in the second floor gallery. McElroy is retired associate art professor and chair of the Department of Visual Arts at the University of North Dakota. The show is an overview of 26 of her prairie-inspired prints donated recently to the Minot State University permanent art collection.
