May 14, Jun 20, Jul 30, Aug 22 - Feeling Creative? Looking for an adventurous new opportunity? Grab your friends, coworkers, or make it a unique date night – and join the Taube Museum of Art for an evening of entertaining art instruction by Minot local artists! No experience required! You will go home with a painting you can call “uniquely yours” and possibly unleash a new talent you will want to explore. The Taube Museum of Art has created a new monthly adult art class, Paint the Town Red! This creative upbeat class is open to the artistic and the not so artistic. It is easy, fun, and stress free! Feel free to bring your favorite cocktail and a snack if you choose, then sit back and be creative! Each monthly session is $35 per person, which includes all the supplies needed to create your masterpiece. They will be held at various locations from 6:30-8:30 pm. Class size is limited to 12 participants, so register early! Must be 21 to register. Jun 10-Aug 4 - Arts in the Park concerts. City band concerts will be located in Oak Park, most of the rest of the Arts in the Parks concerts will be held at Scandinavian Heritage Park. To celebrate Minot State University's 100th anniversary, the final Arts in the Parks event on Aug 4 will be held in front of Minot State University's Old Main. Cake decorator Mandi Zavalney will be at Arts in the Parks events on June 23, July 18, and Aug. 1. She'll decorate cakes in the park and people will get to "eat the art." Other artists will also be present at the event, including artist Rebecca Nielsen, from Minot Air Force Base, and sculptor Don Cullum from Turtle Lake. Jun 15 - The James Memorial Art Center is pleased to host the M.J. Williams Trio for their first Jazz in June concert on beginning at 7:30 pm. The evening will feature original compositions plus classic jazz favorites. A cash bar will be available and refreshments will be served at intermission. Tickets will be available for sale at the main location of American State Bank and Trust Company (corner of Main & Broadway) and the James Memorial Art Center (621 1st Ave. W.). Ticket prices are $20 for individuals if purchased in advance and $25 for individuals at the door that evening. Only 150 tickets will be sold. 774-3601, jmps@nemont.net
