Grand Forks Events:

Feb 13 - Think Global, Hear it Local in Grand Forks. Experience the joyful music of Shanren, a renowned folk-fusion band from Southwestern China, who will be in Grand Forks February 8-14, 2015, as part of Arts Midwest World Fest. Arts Midwest World Fest presents international musical ensembles in intensive week-long residencies in smaller Midwest communities. Its purpose is to foster an understanding of and appreciation for global uniqueness and differences. For more information on this event visit www.novac.org/world-fest.html. On Friday, Feb 13th, there will be a public workshop with students from the University at The Ember Coffee Shop at 5:30pm, as well as a public concert at the Ember at 7pm

Feb 28 - The Symphony presents: Nordic Romance. Join them for a passionate evening of music featuring works by Edvard Grieg, Jean Sibelius and Grand Forks' own, Matthew Peterson. The concert will feature special guest, Alejandro Drago, on violin. Following the performance, enjoy a reception. Tickets: Adults $20, Student/Military $15, Children 12 and younger free. Mar 25-27 - The 2015 UND Writers Conference takes place in Grand Forks. The conference is free, but registration is required. For out of town guests, the Expressway Suites will be offering a Conference rate. To get more information or make a reservation call (701) 757-7000 and ask about the UND Writers Conference rate; or, book online with a note that you're registered for the UND Writers Conference. Do you want to share your own writing at the Conference? Registration for Public Readings is now open! Are you looking forward to the free workshops on writing taught by Roxane Gay, Tara Betts, and Sara Dupree? Registration will open February 2, 2015, but space is limited and is on a first come, first serve basis.
