Apr 17 - Greater Grand Forks Symphony Orchestra presents First Exposure. Classic excitement. Alejandro Drago, Conductor. 10-11am, Chester Fritz Auditorium

Apr 17-May 2, May 22 - August 2014 will mark 50-years since the U.S.’s official entry into Vietnam. The Greater Grand Forks Community Theatre is commemorating this historic milestone with several events, all revolving around the 4thplay in our 66th season: The Last of the Boys, by Steven Dietz. Last of the Boys has been said to “do for Vietnam what [the play] Angels in America did for AIDs awareness”. It is a powerful drama that will remind us of the sacrifice of our servicemen and women long after they leave the combat zone. To suggest that audiences will experience “goose bumps” is not too extreme a statement. We invite you to take advantage of the following opportunities at the Fire Hall Theatre in downtown Grand Forks, some of which are free and others which we can offer to you for a nominal ticket price: Apr 17-May 2 - Last of the Boys, a dramatic portrayal of two old friends who served together in Vietnam, a girl who lost her dad, a wife who lost her husband – and the ghosts that haunt them all. “Talk backs” with the audience after the Fri-Sun shows. Thurs-Sat, 7:30pm; Apr 27, 2pm. Group tickets for 12 or more are only $10. Students, Seniors, Military: $12, and regular admission: $15. Please call 777-4090 to reserve tickets. *Strong language. May 22 - Warrior Words, Veterans from Dickinson, Minot, Bismarck and Grand Forks have been writing dramatic monologues in workshops this winter/spring, 7pm. Their stories will be performed on the Fire Hall Stage in commemoration of Memorial Day. Join us for this free event. Greater Grand Forks Community Theatre

Thru Apr 26 - Greater Grand Forks Theatre presents The Last of the Boys. War stories have a tendency to haunt those who have lived them. This play brings to life the story of one Vietnam veteran so that we may all bare witness. Thurs-Sat, 7:30pm; Sun at 2pm. Firehall Theatre, www.ggfct.com/Theatre_bro_2013.pdf
